Assesment #21: STEM Week

SpaceBalls

SpaceBalls is a parody of Star Wars. It was released in 1987 and it is one of my favorite movies. This movie really doesn't have like a moral or a quote that teaches you about something. I just love this movie and it makes me laugh even if i'm going through tough times. This video clip is one of my favorite moments in the film. I recommend this film to everyone who wants to get a good laugh.

The Breakfast Club

The personality trait that impacted me the most is the one from the weird girl(I don't remember her name and I don't recognize the photos in IMDB)because she was always like quiet and in her own world. The most believable character was the nerd(Don't remember his name either). I compare myself with the weird girl because I am sometimes like in my own world. I agree that the essay that they left at the end did sum up their lives

Message to Ms. Molina:

I know I talk a lot in class, but even if you don't believe it(i know you believe it but im gonna write it anyway) I am in my own world and I'm not that social.

Star wars

I have seen every single Star wars episode. I would recommend the episodes 4-5-6-7 to my friends. These movies are popular because the time the first one was made was at the time that science fiction started being popular. The elements that this movie has are that it had a good story, a lot of action and that it is really futuristic

Inkheart

I think that holding a real book is good because movies dont add a lot of stuff that there is in a book. I think that you go in the world of the characters when you read a book because since you dont know what the character looks like that you imagine yourself in the book. When I read "Percy Jackson: The Titan's curse", I felt like I was the main character. The thing that I most enjoyed about this book is the names of the chapters. There was one chapter that was called Grover gets a Lamborghini. I think Inkheart is really far from the truth because I dont think there is going to be a book that whe you read it it comes true what you read. I think a book can change the life of person by the way they think.

Zathura

A family issue that was resolved was sibling rivalry. In this movie, Danny and Walter were always arguing and whent they found the game they argued more than ususal. But the game solved their problem by working together to beat it. This problem is almost the same with my brother. We don't fight all the time but we don't do some stuff together because we don't like the same things. I have faced some family conflicts but they aren't impossible to solve, they are really difficult to solve.

Alien

I agree with the director's goal because that goal is what makes a horror movie. I think a movie that have achieved that goal is Poltergeist(1982). I think the director Tobe Hooper did a great job on Poltergeist. Some of the special effects in Poltergeist(1982) were that they used real human skeletons instead of plastic ones because it was cheaper. I think the special effects were creative. I think some special effects were computer-generated. The special set a mood of suspense and I think it was really effective. I think some people like to be scared because it gives them a little bit of amusement in their lives.  I really don't know anyone that loves to be frightened.

The Princess Bride

Some fairy tales are the three little pigs and the wolf. The elements that attracted the grandson is love and suspense. Death can stop true love because if you die, you don't feel love. The real meaning of true love is the between family.

Popeye

This movie is about a sailor man called Popeye that goes to SweetHaven to find his father. My favorite song is "I am what I am". This song describes Popeye's personality. I think I really liked where the movie was made, but I have to do some research about the place before going because I dont if it's still the sane as the movie. My favorite part of the film was when Popeye is writing a note with Swee' Pea and it made feel a little emotional. Swee' Pea is the director's baby. In the review, i'm impressed about all the good things he wrote about the film.

Blog Post #9: Little Boy

Little Boy

Many issues that present in this film are bullying, racism and bad relationship between brothers. The issue that I fina very serious is racism because that is something that is happening the most in the world. From the list that Pepper had, the most difficult one I think is the one that the priest called "Befriend Hashimoto" because he thought that all the Japanese were bad people. The easiest one was the one called "Feed the hungry" because all he had to do was invite Hashimoto to his house for dinner. The reason that some things are difficult for some people when dealing with others is the they don't know how to respond or maybe they don't know others are gonna respond. I think our prejudices influence this by the way we think of other people. London changes when he saves Hashimoto and takes him to the hospital. I think the list and mustard seed symbolizes the faith that Pepper had, and the boots represent the love that Pepper had for his father. I don't know if there are anymore symbols in the movie.
